1. Shackleton

With flurries of snow conjured up thanks to majestic animation, sound and puppetry, you can experience an Antarctic expedition safely from your seat at the Project Arts Centre.

Ernest Shackleton remains one of Ireland’s greatest explorers – a man with an insatiable need to jump into the fog, no matter how dangerous or perilous the journey. Ahead of his expedition, he placed an advert which stated: Men wanted for hazardous journey. Low wages, bitter cold…safe return doubtful.

What kinds of men replied to this, and why? Find out more as Shackleton and his team’s great dramatic escape from the frozen Weddell Sea is played out in an innovative and experimental way by Blue Raincoat Theatre Company and their able cast.

Journey to the ends of the earth with Shackleton at the Project Arts Centre.

Now you can support Babylon by buying us a coffee. If we can redirect our coffee expenses towards paying for project operations, it will really help.
